The Best Spanish Fiesta

April Feria | Performers

Aside from the delicious street food, wonderful partners and snazzy decor we have coming to you, the performers play a huge part in our day-long Spanish ‘fiesta-val’. We’ve put them together into a blog post for you to really take them all in…

Cuffy & Jimi

Both from Bristol-based flamenco company, Flamenco Loco, this duo will be performing twice throughout the event. They are a guitar, percussive and singing couple, made up of Cuffy Cuthbertson (guitar) and Jimi Can (singer, percussionist).

Cuffy began playing from an early age and when flamenco entered his life it soon took over.  He studied under Tito Heredia, Paco Serrano and Gerardo Núñez and has acquired an extraordinary level of technique. He has toured internationally with ladino singer Yasmin Levy  & has toured internationally with Bristol band ‘Up Bustle & Out’ featuring on many of their Albums.

Jimi is a Bristol-based Spanish multi-talented performer, he writes songs, plays guitar, percussion and more, absorbing influences from different world music styles such as afro, latin, gypsy, reggae or pop. For the last few years has been developing his gift for the cante (flamenco song) delivering an authentic passionate and melismatic response to the letras (words) and music.

Alejandra Velasco

Alejandra Velasco is a Cardiff-Bristol based flamenco teacher, and is bringing her school of dancers to perform three times during April Feria. Make sure you catch one of their performances to see all ages dance the flamenco to a high standard.

Bambiel Martinez

Bambiel is a professional flamenco and rumba singer. Let him take you to Spain with his impressive voice control and uplifting performance. He is performing three times and is not to be missed.

Josie Sinnadurai

As if we didn’t have enough flamenco going on at our event, Josie Sinnadurai, will being giving not one, but two flamenco workshops and two flamenco performances. The workshops are open to everyone who attends the event- make sure you give it a go! We can’t wait to see her perform, as she puts character into her flamenco dancing by hand clapping, percussive footwork, and intricate hand, arm and body movements.

We would like to share with you the finalised performance timetable, so you can plan your food and drink rounds, of course!
